Sister Shawl Mark II

After much pleasurable browsing through resources, I've decided on the pattern for the Sister Shawl Mk II (or perhaps it should be a Sister Shrug?). This is for my eldest sister who will be 50 this year. She wants something textured, not lace (pity!) and loves intricate cables!!! So, I'll be doing the Cabled Shrug by Shirley Paden.
I'll try doing it with Patons Smoothie DK (black, which is testing on the eyes) but I'll use two strands. My sister is allergic to all (it seems!) animal content yarn and this yarn gets good reviews from nearly all I've talked to about it. Hopefully I'll have the gauge right if I double the strands this way. *Shudder*, I guess I'll have to do a swatch!

Small further progress with the Spring Garden Tee. I keep mucking up the sleeve stitch count. I have to go back 2 rows because I was an idiot and didn't check the count regularly. Doh!

Wow Kate, that is a really pretty shawl! I always love seeing a shawl that is different to the lacey ones that you see all the time. Good luck with knitting it in black!
